I
began my motorcycle painting career at 25 years old in Charleston,
South Carolina. It all began in the work shed of the Fire Station
where I was employed. Back then, it was more of a hobby than a career.
That went on for a couple of years until I was injured on the job.

After almost a year of recovering, it became clear that I was unable
to perform my duties as a full time Fire Fighter and had to reconsider
my career options. I decided to try my hand at Custom Painting for
a living and started that career at J & P Cycles. After a few months,
I moved on to Hawg Wild Customs where I stayed for 2 years before
relocating to Savannah Georgia. There, I went to work at Red Line
Cycles for approximately 7 years. In the course of 10 years, I primarily
painted only motorcycles.

That changed dramatically when I went to work for Big Daddy’s Customs.
With a complete art dept, we offered custom paint to NHRA sanctioned
Drag Cars, Custom Choppers, Low Rider Trucks, Hot Rods, Exotic Autos,
etc…..
I also did custom paint for IROC Sanctioned World Record Holder,
Jamie Green, Outlaw Street Suzuki, owned by Hershel Walker. It was
a productive and exciting period in my life. During this time, I
gained an enormous amount of experience and flexibility in the artistic
world of Custom Paint.
When I headed out west to Washington State, it was the adventure
of a lifetime. I opened Flair with Aire Custom Body Work in Port
Hadlock, WA where I added Antique Restoration to my repertoire of
services.
The greatest addition to this company is my new protege, Harrison
(Tape Dog) Scherer.
He has been a valuable asset to the shop. At 17, he has completed
all the segments of ICAR certification Training and already has
a vast knowledge in the Custom world.
Business has flourished in these small communities of Washington.
I am still offering all varieties of custom paint and look forward
to painting something for you!
We now have nation wide vehicle transport services available through
Kiwi Karriers.
